1.40PM: The
embattled organiser of a Wellington fundraising party for trans legend
Carmen has produced his financial report on the event, amidst mounting
criticism that the event was mishandled and that the ailing Carmen returned to
Sydney with significantly less proceeds than she should have.

Jevan Goulter has
taken a pounding in recent days over the October 9th An Evening of Glamour
event with allegations flying between Goulter and Carmen's supporters and a
number of people involved in the event. Below is Goulter's financial
information as just received by GayNZ.com, plus his response to a variety of
criticisms.
We print his
figures and words verbatim, but should point out that Amanda La Whore, the
event's drag queen MC, has denied she kept any funds from ticket sales as they
were all given away as complimentaries and has announced that she will take
Goulter to court over non-payment for her services; that Jacquie Grant has been
an outspoken and determined critic of the organisation and finances of the
event; and that the Mike/Hope Bros. reference is to Michael Wallace, owner of
Hope Bros., the venue for An Evening Of Glamour.
On legal advice we
have had to remove two unsubstantiated and unspecified allegations which do not
specifically relate to the event in question.

SUMMARY
Friday 9 October: An Evening of Glamour
This is my summary and report of the evening along with the financial
report for everybody to see.
I have to begin by thanking the following people/organisations for their
support and help with this evening being a great night and Carmen's stay in
Wellington: Hope Brothers, Rainbow Wellington, Pip Boag (Fosters New Zealand),
Miss Kola, Travel Lodge, Phil Rogers, Dominion Post, Nightline, Goodmorning
(TVNZ), Labour MP Charles Chauvel's, Labour MP Winnie Laban, Princess, Andre,
Sophie (Sophies Cafe), Liz Christie, Warren Dion Smith, The Chocolate Cake
Company, Prestige Classics Ltd & Sophie (Sophies Cafe). I also have to
thank all the staff on the evening, Tess the stage manager and all the
brilliant performers on the evening. With out these people the evening would
not have been as great a night as it was.
I would also like to thank Mika for supporting me through all of this,
with his inspiration, help & advice through out this drama that has
occured. Thank you Mika for standing beside me and sticking up for what you
knew was true & right!
I must also carry on to say that I am upset by the things that have been
said in the gay media about how I have ripped off somebody I love very much.
Now that I have released my financial report this is where I will make some
comments back now that everybody can see the transparency and where money was
spent.
Jacque Grant: There is very little to say to you other than it is how
you have been behaving that separates the gay community, you obviously as
people have advised me- have nothing better to do than blog on issues you know
nothing of. It really is time to end the age of the Dinosaurs; you are
obviously a very bored person with little else to do. I am absolutely disgusted
in how you approach situations, I had heard from a handful of people about
yourself all though I thought those people merely did not like you, looks like
however they were right, you are nothing but a loud mouth, ageing queen to put
it quite honestly. I would also point out that you are right in saying Carmen
does not have a hating bone in her body, let me just tell you this is why she
is the Queen and you never will be, because she posses so much more style and
class than yourself and your measly followers. After speaking to you I would
quite honestly assume you are jealous of our Queen. I'm glad you have so much
love for Carmen, as do I, maybe you would like to pledge some money towards
having Carmen's scooter fixed since you have no problem in being vocal about
your love towards her! It was interesting that you decided to have had such a
voice in these matters with out finding out what actually went on considering
you were neither at the event nor do you live in Wellington.
Amanda La Whore: You performed very well on the evening & you did a
great job on stage however I do not understand how you could take and sell 20
tickets ($400) & put it in your pocket as opposed to putting it where it
should have gone. That's $400 Carmen did not get, for you to then have the
nerve Amanda to turn around and try to charge $350 for a fundraiser in which
the likes of Mika & Miss Kola flew down from Auckland and performed at
their own expense is absolutely disgusting. For a Maori drag queen to try and
be the only performer to charge in an evening for an elder Maori Kaumatua I
find that absolutely disgusting and think that you should absolutely be
ashamed. Before you start talking about me, Amanda, shall we look at your
colourful background, I wonder what comes up, [Editor's note: content
removed on legal advice], wouldn't it be interesting if I were to elaborate
to everybody on those stories! From the beginning listening to your complaints
about Ribena and how you are by far the better host and hearing you moan about
her was pathetic and just caused more tension really. How dare you rip Carmen
off anyway with tickets you took and did not pay for? I know they were sold and
the giving them out as comps really does not wash. That's what is sickening, I
understand some people do not see through you, but as I have found out about
your past/record now [Editor's note: content removed on legal advice] it
is clear to me that you and I are very different and I wish you luck for you
future.
Mike/Hope Bros: The reality is towards the end we were not working well
together, neither of us felt comfortable working together at all and it was
very stressful for both of us. I have no idea as to what you are doing and all
these things that I am hearing but I have to thank yourself & Hope Bros for
making the evening go ahead, your effort into making the night happen and extra
work you did I really appreciated. Thank you.
Jevan: One thing I am not going to do is slag everybody else off without
commenting on myself. I was unorganised, I did not keep control over the event,
and I did not deal with certain people as well as I may have been able to. I
should have had more people helping and I should have stayed away from certain
people who have now shown their true colours. It would be extremely far to say
that I made poor decisions!
Funny thing about this community thou are that I went out to try and do
something good for someone I have great respect and aroha for. I bought Carmen
back, she had a lot of interviews, which she loved, and she had a great time, I
made sure she did not have to pay for anything and that she was happy. I look
around at others who are now throwing stones although did not support Carmen,
have not done anything for her and just like to sing and dance about it. I had
good intentions and the community turned, I have to thank those who remained
positive thou even though it's far and few between people.
Carmen lives for these sorts of events now, Jacque as much as I know you
think she's an older person and should stay home, this is what Carmen lives for
it is what she loves, it is what gets her excited now in life! I am not ashamed
nor do I regret doing this event, I however am upset I did not raise more
money, although it will not stay there.
To those who have decided I am a liar and a cheat etc, I need not try to
change your minds, because reality is, I do not care what you think, If your
worthless enough to believe stuff you read on blogs then your not the sort of
people I want to know any way!
Aroha nui
