Peter Taylor, owner and star of Ponsonby Road's campest bar Dorothy's Sister, has been named 'Up & Coming Entrepreneur of the Year' at a Ponsonby awards ceremony last night

Taylor accepted the award in full make-up and heels, and plans to celebrate his win with a party tomorrow from 3:30pm at his bar.

The Ponsonby Top 10 Entrepreneurs Awards were held yesterday evening at Hopetoun Alpha, just off K' Road, with drag 'twins' Buffy & Bimbo joining TV3's Jacqui Grant as MCs.

Dorothy's Sister bar at 265 Ponsonby Road opened last year, and is Taylor's second Ponsonby bar, after the legendary Surrender Dorothy, which closed in 2005.

An ongoing battle with a rare tropical infection means Taylor must undergo Chemotherapy every few weeks - and tomorrow's party will also mark 700 treatments, he explains. "I have a party every 100 doses, and thought this time a Sunday afternoon would be a great way to celebrate this milestone," he tells GayNZ.com.

Next month, Dorothy's Sister will celebrate its first anniversary with a weekend of drag entertainment, an awards ceremony and dress-up competition
