Big Gay Out in Auckland

The annual Big Gay Out festival was taking place today in Auckland.

The event aims to celebrate everything lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender.

Organisers said the event was becoming more family-orientated, with growing numbers of gay mums and dads attending with their children.

The event is sponsored by the New Zealand Aids Foundation, which says HIV is contracted amongst gay and bisexual New Zealand men at a rate of about one infection every four days.
