Hedestia, originally in Wellington then later in Auckland
An organisation for transvestites and transsexuals, Hedesthia was founded by Christine Young, and after her death was continued by Susan Xtabay.
Newsletters S.E.L.F. (Sisters Expressing Limited Femininity) and Transscribe.

TRANSFORMATION
An information and support service for transsexuals the group was formed by Gillian Cox (formerly Geoffrey Laundon).
The major archives of Transformation were passed to Hedesthia (q.v.). These papers include leaflets, reports, a few letters and autobiographical material from Gillian Cox.

Transcare - Leonie Neill in Wellington during the 80’s and early 90’s.
Non-membership based service organisation to lobby for recognition of transgendered people in New Zealand. Also referrals to medical and counselling services.

RETRO TEAM
Cross-dress and fetish social group 1980's-90s? run by Loose Loraine
Later became Club LaFemme but died out around 2005
